Taste the Summer

Colusa Certified Farmers Market Underway

COLUSA, CA (MPG) – The Colusa Certified Farmers Market in Veterans Memorial Park is back for the summer season.

More fresh produce will be added to the summer Colusa Certified Farmers Market held on
Thursdays as seasonal crops begin to ripen.

Managed by the Ministerial Association of Colusa County, the market brings together local farmers, crafters, and food producers in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

Jennifer Diaz, who helps coordinate the market, said that while the season got off to a slow start mid-June, more fresh produce will be added as seasonal crops begin to ripen.

“We’re just getting started,” Diaz said.

In addition to fruits and vegetables, the market features handmade crafts, specialty products, and baked goods from licensed home kitchens. Shoppers can find everything from soaps and jams to cookies and artisan bread.

The market also coincides with the Levitt AMP Colusa Music Series, which brings free live concerts to the park on Thursday evenings. The combination of fresh food and live music has made the market a popular weekly event for locals and visitors alike.

The Colusa Certified Farmers Market runs from 4-7 p.m. from June through September and is part of a broader effort by the Ministerial Association to support local agriculture and build community connections.

The Colusa Farmers Market offers a variety of produce,
handmade crafts and specialty products from home kitchens
each Thursday night at Veterans Memorial Park.

The MACC provides vouchers for the farmers market as part of their broader food assistance efforts. The goal is to help community members in need access fresh, local produce while also supporting local farmers, Diaz said.

Shoppers are encouraged to grab their produce before grabbing a seat on the lawn, as the music kicks off at 6:30 p.m.

Organizers said the market and free concert combo has quickly become a favorite Thursday tradition, drawing around 300 people to Colusa each week.
