COLUSA, CA (MPG) – With voluntary summer workouts underway for most county football teams, the Colusa RedHawks are using their time not only to condition in preparation for the upcoming season, but also to adjust to the new offensive and defensive schemes being implemented by first year head coach Mason Niccum and his staff.

Niccum says the numbers have been good so far, averaging somewhere between 50 to 60 combined varsity and JV athletes, which is in line with what they hope to achieve in the time before official practice begins.

“Our goals for the summer are to get the kids out here and to get better,” said Niccum. “It’s been going really well so far and it’s been exciting.”
In addition to the work they are currently putting in, the RedHawks will head to River Valley High School in Yuba City on June 25 to participate in a 7 v. 7 hosted by the Falcons.
