COLUSA, CA (MPG) – Things haven’t come easy for the Colusa baseball team this season, but the RedHawks came alive last week as they outscored Willows 32-8 in two Sacramento Valley League games.

three doubles.
On the road last Tuesday, the Honkers went ahead 5-4 in the fifth after putting a four spot on the board, but Colusa rallied back for five runs in the top of the seventh starting with a single off the bat of Lucas Price.
Price’s hit ultimately led to two Willows errors and allowed Carlos Franco, who singled to lead off the frame, to score the tying run.

Then with Price standing on second, the next batter, Kane Nall doubled to right for the go ahead.
In the bottom of the seventh, Price, who threw a complete game three hitter with eight strikeouts, worked around an error to retire the next three batters in order and send the RedHawks home with a 9-5 win.
Nall finished the game going 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI, Mason Gutierrez was also 2 for 4, while Adan Travis went 2 for 3.

However, Colusa needed no such heroics at home in its second game against Willows on Apr. 18, as the offense erupted resulting in the lopsided 23-3 victory.
Jace MacKaben had himself a day at the plate finishing 4 for 5 with an unheard of eight RBI as he belted a home run and three doubles.
Nall wasn’t far behind having gone a perfect 5 for 5 and knocking in six runs.
Price also had a nice outing with bat, ending 3 for 4 and two RBI.
Juan Ramirez got the start on the hill and went three innings surrendering three hits and fanning four before giving way to Travis who closed out the game.
With the pair of wins, the RedHawks (4-15, 4-4) have now won four straight, sit fourth in the SVL and will play a non-conference road game against Vacaville Christian this afternoon.
