Colusa Skeet Shooting Beats Farming Rice

Colusa, CA (MPG) – Colusa skeet shooters, Mark Andreotti and Bob Maffei, are certain shooting skeet tournaments is better than working for a living. Picking up their belt buckle prizes and receiving their winning paychecks in the mail have become somewhat of a routine for the local skeet shooters this season.

“Windy conditions have plagued this year’s tournaments,” Maffei recalled. “But I was lucky enough to take the 20ga Senior Veteran Champion title at the Andy Laird Open Tournament.

Both Andreotti and Maffei attended the April Fools Open which included 164 entries for the three-day tournament. “Weather conditions were excellent, but a spring green shooting background made seeing the targets difficult,” Andreotti stated. However, Andreotti excelled and ended up taking champion titles in the 12ga E Class and 20ga D Class as well as the Veteran Champion Titles in both events. Maffei placed third in C Class 12ga and fourth place in D Class 20ga events as well as Senior Veteran Champion in both events.
