COLUSA, CA (MPG) – With the large number of students that pass through a high school, an employee never knows how much of an impact they may have had in a relatively short amount of time, but through its “You Inspired Me” Award, Colusa High School alumni have the opportunity to show their appreciation for those who have positively influenced their lives.

As such, last Monday, Feb. 3, longtime business teacher and FBLA advisor Sue Barrett received well-deserved affirmation from a group of former students and colleagues who recognized the meaningful impact she had on them.
Spearheaded by Pat Townzen and joined by some of Barrett’s other charges, including Lexi Kraft Cabral, Meghan Foster, Chloe Ferraiuolo, Max Ferraiuolo and Haley Lyss, the group praised her for not only setting high expectations, but also for making them believe they could achieve them.
Her fellow teachers, Sue Rasmussen, Nikole McElwain, Darren Townzen and Joe Williamson, were in also in attendance to express their appreciation for the countless hours Barrett dedicated to Colusa High School during her 35-year career.
In addition to the plaque she received at the ceremony, Barrett’s name will be added to “You Inspired Me “ section of the donor wall located inside Larry Yeghoian Stadium.
Those wishing to honor a district employee can contact the Colusa High School Alumni Association, P.O. Box 1027, Colusa, CA 95932 or call Colusa High School at (530) 458-2156.
