Boys:

Colusa 1 – Gridley 3 (12/18)

Colusa 3 – Orland 1 (12/19)

After suffering a loss to Gridley to start last week, the RedHawks bounced back nicely to down Orland.

 

Victor Lopez, who scored Colusa’s lone goal against the Bulldogs, recorded the brace in the victory over the Trojans, while Cesar Cruz tacked on another goal for good measure.

 

Now 3-2-2, the RedHawks were at the Pierce Tournament, which ran Dec. 20 and 21, prior to the Pioneer Review print deadline.

 

Pierce 2 – Live Oak 6 (12/17)

In its first match last week, the Bears stumbled on the road against the Lions, but hoped to end its four-game slide when it opened play in its home tournament, which ran Dec. 20 -21.

 

Results were not available prior to the print deadline, which was moved up due to the Christmas holiday.

 

Williams 10 – Durham 2 (12/19)

The Yellowjackets kept their record unblemished in five tries as they went on the road and trounced Durham.

 

No statistics were available.

 

Williams now takes a hiatus for its winter break and will return to the pitch in the new year

 

Girls:

Colusa 4 – Gridley 2 (12/18)

Colusa 0 – Orland 4  (12/19)

After posting their first win of the season over Gridley, the RedHawks found themselves on the short end of the score against Orland.

Colusa’s Melissa Avila scored a brace in the RedHawks’ 4-2 win over Gridley on Dec. 18.

Melissa Avila booted a pair of goals, while Itzel Cruz and Janell Garcia each added one in the victory.

Janell Garcia netted a goal in Colusa’s match against Gridley on Dec. 18.

Colusa (1-4) will return to action at home on Jan. 9 when its hosts Maxwell.

 

 

Williams 2 – Durham 0 (12/19)

Williams notched its first win of the season on the road with a shutout victory over the Trojans.

 

Daisy Ruiz recorded the brace to account for the ‘Jackets’ scoring, while Lori Contreras chipped in with an assist.

 

Williams (1-3) resumes play in January.
