PRINCETON, CA (MPG) – While they may be a small school in terms of students, the Princeton boy’s and girl’s basketball teams are serving notice that they will be a force to be reckoned with as the season progresses.
The Eagle boys picked up their first win of the season with a 48-34 downing of CORE Butte at home on Dec. 3, behind a game-high 24 points from Nate Ramirez and a monster double-double from Chris Roberson that included 18 points and 19 rebounds.
As for the Princeton girls, who despite dropping a close one to CORE Butte 45-48, they bounced back on the road to beat Esparto 21-4 on Dec. 5 and Paradise 32-22 on Dec. 6.
At home against the Lynx, Jada Dillard posted a game-high 21 points, while Makenzie Wills finished with 15 points.
Although statistics from with win over Esparto were not available, it was the duo of Dillard and Wills leading the way against Paradise.
Dillard dropped 20 in the win, with Wills pitching in with nine.
Both teams were in Maxwell on Dec. 9, then hosted Plumas Charter (Quincy) on Dec. 10, prior to the boys returning to Maxwell to defend their title at the Irene Wells Tournament, which started Thursday and runs through Saturday.
