GRASS VALLEY, CA (MPG) – Having received an at-large bid in the CIF Division V State Volleyball Tournament, the No. 7 seeded RedHawks took care of No. 10 Bret Harte on Nov. 12, but had their season come to an end two nights later as they were swept by No. 2 Bear River.

Playing at home against the Bullfrogs, Colusa found little resistance as they cruised to the 25-17, 25-21, 25-15 victory in a first round match.
Addison Lay handed out 21 assists and had a team-high 10 kills to pace the RedHawks, who also got eight kills apiece from McKenna Azbill and Cece Mitchum, along with seven more from Peyton Miller.
Abby Coronado pitched in with 13 total points coming on five kills, five aces and three blocks.
In the back row, Abril Guzman made 16 digs and 26 service receptions, while Mitchum pitched in with 13 digs.
It was a different story in Grass Valley against the Bruins however, as Colusa struggled to mount an attack and as a result fell 14-25, 18-25, 15-25.

Coronado led the team with five kills, while Azbill added four in her final match for the RedHawks.
Also seeing their careers for Colusa come to an end were seniors Guzman and Lay.
Guzman made 13 digs, while Lay finished with seven digs and five blocks.
Colusa concluded the season with an overall record of 23-13, and as the third place team in the Sacramento Valley League.
