Peter James Vennery, 81, passed away on July 13, 2024, in Chico, as a result of Lewy Body Dementia. Born on February 9, 1943, in Colusa, California, Pete was a cherished member of his community and a loving figure in the lives of his family
and friends.
Pete attended Our Lady of Lourdes grammar school followed by Colusa High School. He furthered his education at Yuba College and Oregon State University. His academic pursuits led him to a distinguished 55-year career as a Registered Pharmacist, retiring
in 2021.
In addition to his professional life, Pete served in the California National Guard, dedicating himself to the values of duty and service. His commitment to his country was matched by his passion for life, particularly in his hobbies which included hunting, running, working out, good food (especially Italian!), tennis, travel
and golf.
Pete’s personality was defined by his fun-loving and generous nature. He loved being active all throughout his life, but his greatest passion was for his family and friends, whom he loved deeply.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his sister, Toni Ann Zumwalt (Larry); his daughters, Michi Petric (Cory, Emily, Aiden), Andrea Myrdahl (Andy and Dax), and Nicole Elliott (Bill, Brooke, Calon) and too many friends to count. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Emily Vennery
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the Colusa Golf Course from 1 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lewey Body Dementia Assoc., your local Hospice, or a charity of your choice, honoring Pete’s generous spirit.
The family wishes to thank Sharda Mani, Lora Fusaro, Compass Rose Memory Care, Butte County Hospice and the many friends who have helped them through this difficult time.
