MAXWELL, CA (MPG) – After suffering its only setback of the season to Vacaville Christian back on Mar. 7, the Maxwell baseball team has rattled off five straight wins including three last week.

Getting started last Monday, the Panthers closed out visiting Princeton in five innings by a score of 11-1.
On the mound, Levi Velazquez went the distance scattering just four hits.

Maxwell was back at it the following day, sweeping a twin bill at home from Mt. Shasta after downing the Bears 6-5 and 4-3.
In the early game, Izquierdo stayed hot going 2 for 3, Massey Baker tripled, Brody Jones doubled and knocked in three runs, while Alcaraz drove in a pair of runs.

Baker also turned in a solid five-inning effort on the hill striking out eight before giving way to Walter Avery who closed out the final two frames striking out four.
The Panthers got another good outing on the mound in the second game, this time from Melvin Martinez, who went four and two-thirds of the five innings, fanning five while yielding just two hits and two earned runs.
Avery induced the game’s final out and also doubled to drive in a run.
