COLUSA, CA (MPG) – The Colusa County Clerk-Recorder Registrar announced Friday that the Election Department has provided an accessible 24-hour drive through ballot drop box, located in the alley behind the Colusa Police Station at 260 6th St., Colusa.
The public is invited to observe as the Colusa County Registrar of Voters conducts events related to the election. All events will take place at the Registrar of Voters office according to the following schedule:
Vote By Mail Ballots check in: Ballots are checked in daily as they are received.
Ballots will be retrieved from the drop box at approximately 8:45 am Monday-Friday (excluding holidays); at 8:45 am on Monday, March 4; and Election Day, Tuesday March 5 at 8:45 am and again at 8 p.m.
Election night: The office opens at 7 am and closes at 9 pm and when the Secretary of State Office verifies unofficial reporting results. Election Night observers are asked to arrive by 7:40 pm to hear an overview of the election night process; however, observers are welcome at any time.
Initial results will be available after 8 pm and will include vote by mail ballots that have been received and processed in the Elections Office. Results will continue to be updated until all precinct totals are reported.
Hard copies of results will be available in the office as updated results become available. Unofficial results will also be posted to the Elections Office website at the end of the night.
After 8 pm, the random 1% selection of precincts will be generated using the Election Information Management System. Elections office staff are required to stay until approval is received from the Secretary of State to leave for the night.
