Charles “Sonny” Tanner, 69 of Colusa, California passed away surrounded by family on January 23, 2024 after a valiant fight with cancer.
Sonny was born on December 3, 1954 to Charles Robert and Ann Tanner in Colusa, California. He attended the local schools and graduated from Colusa High School in 1974.
Sonny worked for Yerxa Farms, Pirelli Cable and Colusa Rice Co-op including local farmers in the county.
Sonny was preceded by his father and mother and older brother Gene Tanner. Sonny is survived by his wife Catherine “Katy” of 27 years, brother Bill (Rose), sister Barbara Salazar (Gumercindo), his son Jonathan (Danielle), grandchildren Chad and Wade Tanner; stepdaughter Suzanne Teare, stepson Robert Richards, step grandchildren Alexandra, Robert Jr. and Cian in addition to many nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be held at the Colusa Assembly of God Church on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with graveside services to follow at the Colusa Cemetery on Wilson Road. This will conclude the services.
