Merry Mocktail Evening a Success

Members of the “Friends of the Colusa County Free Library” were treated to an evening of specialty ‘Mocktails,” otherwise known as non-alcoholic cocktails, at an exclusive members-only event, “A Merry Mocktail Evening,” which was held Dec. 4, at the Colusa Branch Library.

Mocktail Tenders Kristin and Sean Amsden helped the Friends hold a successful first-of-a-kind fundraiser at the Colusa Branch Library on Dec. 4.

Valente Baily and Ann Amsden coordinated the event, along with the board of directors, who prepared luscious appetizers. Live music was provided by Cynthia White, John Lauppe, and Ralph Newlin.
“It was very well attended by the community, and the funds raised will go to our Library,” said member Nancy Newlin.

The Mocktail Tenders for this first-of-a-kind fundraiser were Kristin and Sean Amsden, of Colusa.

The event provided the opportunity for members to browse and select from a delightful array of carefully curated books before the public sale kicked off.

The public is now invited to purchase gently used books at the library, located at 738 Market Street, or the Bookworm at 440 Market Street, Colusa, now through the end of December.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to support the library.

The Friends of the Colusa County Free Library has raised more than $250,000 since it was organized in 1979 to strengthen library resources, sponsor cultural and educational programs, and generate community interest in the library’s services, programs, and facilities.

To become a member, email friendsofthecolusalibary@gmail.com or visit the Colusa Library or Bookworm book store.

Memberships start at $5 for individuals; $10 for families; and $25 for businesses and organizations.
