Draves Sworn in as CCBSA President

OAKLAND, CA (MPG) – The California Clerkbof the Board of Supervisors Associationbhas named Colusa County resident Alicia Draves to serve as president for 2024.

Draves, who is the chief deputy clerk to the Solano County Board of Supervisors, was sworn in at the recent CSAC annual meeting.

THE CCBSA provides a professional network of shared-resources, education,
and mentoring opportunities to its members, in support of their legislative and
mandated responsibilities.

Officers of the CCBSA are elected annually by the membership. Except for
the treasurer, elected officials assume office at the close of the annual conference at which they were named, and serve until the next regular annual conference.

The Treasurer serves from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31.

Draves was elected City Clerk by the voters of Williams, in 2004, and worked
as clerk to the Colusa County Board of Supervisors. She previously served as the CCBSA vice president and was elected treasurer to fill an unexpired term.

Draves is married to husband, Jeff Draves, and has two children.

 

Colusa PD Getting New Weapons

The Colusa City Council on Dec. 5 authorized Chief of Police Josh Fitch to
trade in the department’s aging .40 caliber pistols for newer Glock 17, fifth generation 9mm handguns.

The 12 duty weapons currently used by the police department have surpassed their recommended replacement schedule of 10 years, officials said.

The new handguns and accessories will be provided by ProForce for $10,970,
which includes a $1,800 credit for the old weapons.

The Police Chief will use Supplemental Law Enforcement Services funding provided by the state for frontline law enforcement equipment.

The 13 new guns will come with three magazines, AMG night sites, Holosun red dot sights, and Safariland duty holsters.

 

Santa Claus Making His Rounds

Santa Claus will travel aboard a Colusa Fire Truck next week, bringing joy to the residents of Colusa.

Although times and locations may vary, depending on the weather, you might
catch a glimpse of the jolly old fellow on wheels from 6-9 pm on Monday, Dec. 18, starting at the Levee and 13th Street, and ending at Clay and Bridge; Dec. 19, starting at Parkhill and Bridge, and ending at Sioc and Baber; Dec. 20, starting at 3rd and Sioc, and ending on Wescott Road; Dec. 21, in the Country Club, Indian Oaks, Walnut Ranch, and Sunrise Landing
neighborhoods.

Santa on Wheels will continue Dec. 22 only if he needs to make up for any weather delays. Rain showers are expected next week. To maintain safety,
Santa’s Fire Department escort asks motorists not to follow the entourage.

 

Food Commodities to be Distributed

The North State Food Bank Emergency Food Assistance Program will distribute commodities for the month of January 2024 during the times designated below
