Boys:

Williams’s Adrian Solis moves the ball up field in the Yellowjackets’ win over
Colusa on Dec. 5.

The Yellowjackets improved to 4-0 in the early season after posting shutout wins over Colusa and Willows last week at home.

Against Colusa, Adrian Solis got the ‘Jackets on the board in the 17th minute, Gerardo Navarro added on in the 21st minute, and Ernie Lemus scored on a penalty kick seven minutes later to give Williams a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Lemus then scored the only goal of the second half, in the 68th minute on a breakaway.
No statistics from the blowout over Willows were provided.

Off to a fast start, the Yellowjackets hosted tough opponents in Winters and Live Oak on Dec. 12 and 14, respectively.

Colusa 0 – Williams 4 (12/5)
Colusa 1 – Corning 3 (12/7)

Last week was a difficult one for the RedHawks, who are without some key players, due to the extended season of its football team, which won a state championship on Dec. 9.

Colusa, who dropped to 2-5 in the preseason, did not provide statistics but was back on the pitch in Hamilton City on Tuesday, before returning home to host Kelseyville on Thursday.

Pierce 0 – Gridley 2 (12/7)

Not shying away from tough competition, the Bears dropped two close non-conference matches last week but did not provide any statistics.

In its only scheduled match this week, Pierce (1-5) welcomed Anderson to town on Thursday.

Two was a good number for the Yellowjackets last week as they played Colusa to a draw before following up with a shutout of Willows in a pair of matches at McCarl Field.

Finding themselves in a 2-0 hole after a half of play against the RedHawks, Williams rallied back to tie after Daisy Ruiz recorded the brace off assists from Andrea Velazquez and Melanie Lopez.

Goalkeeper Oryhia Velazquez was selected by new head coach Phillip Santillan as the player of the match for her admirable performance that included three saves.

The ‘Jackets followed up against the Honkers with Lopez and Isabella Santillan each finding the back of the net, while Velazquez kept a clean sheet in goal recording four saves.

Williams (2-0-1) welcomed Winters to town on Tuesday and Live Oak on Thursday before hitting the road to face Sutter today.

Colusa 2 – Williams 2 (12/5)
Colusa 0 – Corning 7 (12/7)

The RedHawks got off to a fast start in its match in Williams when a shot by Adamariz Solorio deflected off the defender into the goal in the eighth minute.

And although Colusa followed up in the 22nd minute with a strike from Mia Valencia, the RedHawks could not hold the lead and had to settle for a draw.

In their second match on the road in Corning two days later, the RedHawks were unable to slow down the Cardinals.

Still searching for its first win of the year, the RedHawks (0-3-1) were in Hamilton City on Dec. 12, then entertained Gridley on Dec. 13 and Kelseyville on Dec. 14.

Pierce 0 – Gridley 8 (12/7)

Although no statistics were provided, the Bears fell in consecutive matches.

Pierce (0-3) looked to get into the win column this week in a home game against Anderson on Thursday, before the Bears begin tournament play today against Sutter.
