WILLOWS, CA (MPG) – Four local seniors closed out their high volleyball careers last Sunday afternoon when they participated in the 22nd Annual All-Star Match held at Willows High School.

Colusa’s Elle Faris, Maxwell’s Emma Hendrix, Pierce’s Laura Rivera. and Williams’ Mia Rivera joined fellow seniors from Chico, Hamilton City, Pleasant Valley, and Willows high schools to play for the South squad.
In another local connection, Pierce’s Lauren Ornbaun served as a coach for the South alongside Hamilton’s Katie Skala.
While the South took the first set 25-18, the North, comprised of athletes from Foothill, Fall River, Modoc, Shasta, Trinity, U-Prep, and West Valley, ultimately prevailed by winning the next three sets 25-21, 25-9, 25-17.
Seniors are nominated and selected by coaches from the North State to comprise two 12-person teams.
The annual event, which is attended by numerous collegiate coaches, is sponsored by Club Chico Volleyball,
Thunder Volleyball Camps, and the Willows Volleyball Club.
