Sometimes we so anxiously anticipate future events that we forget to appreciate the moment we’re in.
Tom and I travel a lot. We’re always planning an adventure in future.
As much as I enjoy getting to be the planner, I equally enjoy the time of planning it all from home. I like home.
Some days I am thankful to just be here with nothing to do.
My friend Jean has a sign at her house that says it all. “Sometimes I sits and thinks and sometimes I just sits,” it reads. It makes perfect since to me.
Yet we continue to anticipate all things.
I’ve had some not serious but necessary medical things going on. It’s all good, but I find myself anticipating the appointments. I just want to get it done and move on.
I anticipate events, gatherings and trips. I anticipate time with family and friends.
As fall arrives we start to look forward to the coming holidays.
I would like to get past Halloween and Thanksgiving before decorating for Christmas though.
We live in a rush through it society. It has bypassed the joy of
it all.
If we all took the time to enjoy the moments we are given daily it would be far better.
Take a moment. Look around. I’m pretty sure that you will spot at least one thing or one person that brings you joy. You don’t have to anticipate it.
Life is good today. H
