Maxwell’s Allie Wills, Kennidy Moss, Shelby Dunlap and Fatima Cano celebrate a point in the Panthers win over Hamilton City on Sept. 26.

MAXWELL, CA (MPG) – The Panthers improved to 3-1 in the Mid-Valley League and 20-2 overall with wins over Hamilton City and Biggs last week.
After breezing through the first two sets, the scrappy Braves made Maxwell work to earn the 25-11, 25-18, 21-25, 25-23 victory and move into a three-way tie atop the MVL standings.
Fatima Cano had a huge game at the net against visiting Hamilton City, tallying 11 blocks to go along with 10 kills.
Also stepping up in the match was Emma Hendrix, who finished with 17 assists, eight kills and six blocks.
Bailee Haywood led the defensive charge with 27 digs, while Kennidy Moss put together a solid all-around effort with eight digs, four aces and four kills.
Maxwell proved to be an ungracious host in its second match last week, putting a 25-10, 25-8, 25-6 shellacking on the visiting Wolverines.
Hendrix led the Panthers with another productive night that included 11 aces, eight kills and three blocks.
Now riding a three game-win streak, Maxwell was in Los Molinos on Tuesday and Williams on Thursday. H
