MAXWELL, CA (MPG) – It’s been an exceptional start to the season for the Panthers (13-1) as they won a second straight tournament and are currently riding a 12-game win streak where they have dropped only a single set in the process.
After dismissing PAA and Esparto earlier last week, Maxwell downed Paradise, Redding Christian, and St. Bernard’s of Eureka to win the championship at the Beth Pilger Tournament.
Fatima Cano was the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, while Emma Hendrix earned All-Tournament honors.
Coach Ashley Krug couldn’t be happier with her team’s play of late saying, “They are killing it.”
While the Panthers provided statistics from the match against PAA, which included Cano registering eight kills, Balilee Haywood accounting for five aces and five digs, along with Hendrix, handing out eight assists and serving four aces. No others were available before the Pioneer Review submission deadline.
Maxwell looked to continue its winning ways this week with matches against Princeton on Aug. 28, Durham on Aug. 29, and Esparto on Aug. 31.
