The Panthers closed out the regular season by making short work of Biggs 25-14, 25-12, 25-11 last Tuesday at home, before overcoming a disastrous first set in Los Molinos to outlast the Bulldogs 8-25, 25-14, 18-25, 25-11, 15-7.
Against the visiting Wolverines, Fatima Cano led the attack with seven kills while Emma Hendrix added six kills and seven assists.
Pacing the Panther defense was Ryann Dennis with eight digs, along with Bailee Haywood who made six.

Although Maxwell (20-7) finished third in the Mid-Valley League, the Panthers are the No. 1 seed in the Northern Section CIF Division VII, and begin their quest for their second straight championship when they welcome No. 8 Happy Camp to town tonight.

After losing at home in straight sets to visiting Colusa on Oct. 18 by scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-21, the Bears won their final conference match of the year on the road in Live Oak 25-7, 25-15, 25-17.

Pierce (11-19) received the No. 5 seed in the NSCIF Division IV playoffs and as a result squared off with No. 4 Williams in a rematch of last year’s first round match on Oct. 25 in Williams.■
