Nothing signals election time in California better than the receipt of a ballot in the mail. Registered voters have or should receive their ballots this week. Monday, Oct. 10, was the deadline for election officials to have ballots mailed out.
The 2022 statewide and local election will be held on Nov. 8. All registered voters are invited to return their ballots by mail, drop their ballots off at a 24-hour drop box outside the Colusa County Hall of Records, 546 Jay St., in Colusa. They may also vote in person by surrendering their mail ballots on election day at their polling location. In addition to statewide propositions and state offices, local ballots will include a countrywide half-cent sales tax initiative (Measure A). Colusa voters will also have their say on a 1 cent sales tax initiative (Measure B) and Williams voters will vote on a half-cent tax initiative (Measure C). The District 5 Supervisor and Colusa County Clerk Recorder positions, along with seats on the Colusa City Council, Williams City Council, and Colusa Unified School District Board of Trustees are all up for grabs. The standard registration deadline to vote is Oct. 24. For more information, visit the Clerk-Recorder’s Office online at countyofcolusa.org.
