East Park Reservoir project moves forward

The Colusa County Board of Supervisors on Sept. 26 adopted plans, specifications, and working details for an ADA improvement project and boat launch at East Park Reservoir.

The $475,000 project is funded by California Proposition 68, the Parks, Environment and Water Bond authorized by voters in 2018 for the creation and rehabilitation of state and local parks, natural resources protection projects, climate adaptation projects, water quality and supply projects, and flood protection projects.

Officials said Colusa County received a non-competitive per capita allocation of $400,000 as a result of this proposition, Arbuckle and Maxwell Park and Recreation Districts each received $177,952.

Because of the cash match requirement in Maxwell, the MPR board chose to assign their allocation to Colusa County for use at East Park Reservoir, County Administrative Officer Wendy Tyler said.

Arbuckle Park and Recreation District, which does not have a cash match because it is designated an economically disadvantaged community, will use their allocation on a basketball court project.

The East Park Reservoir project is currently out to bid. ■
