The Colusa County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday awarded a contract to Knife River Construction for road rehabilitation on Lonestar Road, from Highway 20 to Myers Road.
Baldwin Contracting Company, which does business as Knife River, provided the lowest of seven bids, ranging from about $2.67 million to $3.66 million.
Colusa County Department of Public Works recommended the road rehabilitation project be awarded to the Chico-based construction company, which has performed a number of projects in Colusa and surrounding counties.
The Lonestar project includes pulverizing and excavating the roadway and replacing it with an asphalt overlay and traffic markings.
The work is expected to be completed this fall, officials said. ■
