A Johnson Junior High School student was arrested last week for bringing a BB gun to school that resembled a Glock handgun.
The Colusa County Sheriff’s Resource Officer investigated the incident after an alert parent attending an awards ceremony observed the student with what appeared to be a handgun concealed in his waistband.
The parent immediately reported what he had seen to the school staff and was able to describe what the student was wearing, according to CCSO officials.
The school resource officers quickly located the seventh grader, who was taken into custody for carrying a concealed firearm and possession of a weapon on school grounds.
Sheriff officials said the Glock 19X Gen5 .177 Caliber BB Gun Air Pistol significantly resembles a Glock handgun.
The investigation is still ongoing, officials said. ■
