Colusa Planning Commission approves cannabis agreements

The Colusa Planning Commission approved two new development agreements on May 25 that will allow for new cannabis cultivation and manufacturing operations at Colusa Industrial Properties.

The first, an agreement between XO Cannabis and the City of Colusa, will allow a cannabis business at 2959 Davison Court, which is next to (south) the Colusa County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, subject to approval of state and local permits.

Colusa officials said the state-of-the-art structure is insulated and will not be odor-producing.

The second agreement with 5D1 will be located at 2857 Niagara Ave. The project will involve recently constructed “hoop houses” for marijuna cultivation.

Both projects have been in the works for several years, officials said.

The Development Agreements, which promise 3 percent of the gross profits to the City of Colusa, will require City Council approval, along with Council approval of conditional use permits.

Cannabis is regulated and licensed by the California Department of Cannabis Control. ■
