Following a day of Virginia Yerxa Community Read activities, the Garden Club of Colusa County will host a Great Gatsby style of floral designing with Nationally acclaimed flower show judge, Susi Gillum, of Chico.
On Saturday, April 30, from 2-4 PM, Gillum will showcase techniques of floral arranging at Methodist Church Friendship Hall, located at 5th and Oak St., in Colusa. Participants will have the opportunity to create a wonderful gift to take home.
This event is open to all, and all you need to bring is your own container. The Garden Club of Colusa County will provide flowers and greenery.
Gillum began arranging flowers when he was six years old, and became hooked after winning a blue ribbon at a local county fair. She has since become an accredited master judge, and served as an officer in many floral clubs. Gillum presents workshops and design demonstrations along the west coast, from Washington to San Diego. ■
