Colusa County’s quilt guild, Pacific Flyway Quilters, has recently reopened for in-person meetings.
The guild hosted the January meeting of Quilt Guilds of the North Quarter, an organization of the quilt guilds located throughout the north state. Representatives of 21 guilds gathered for lunch and to exchange information from their areas.
Pacific Flyway Quilters will present the works of Trudy Colin at their March meeting.
Colin began sewing clothes for her dolls at the age of six, taught by her grandmother. She honed her skills through her working career doing alterations and also teaching sewing. Colin considers herself a traditional quilter, as she likes to hand piece and hand quilt.
Colin will speak about her journey in the quilting world at the March meeting.
Anyone interested in the art of quilting is invited to attend this meeting on Wednesday, March 16, at 6:30 PM, at the Colusa Masonic Lodge, 311 Fifth Street. ■
