Chuck Wayman, an Arbuckle native, was appointed Deputy Superintendent of Student Services at the Colusa County Office of Education (CCOE) last week.
Wayman has been employed with the CCOE for 17 years, as a Special Education teacher, and recently served as the CCOEs Assistant Superintendent of Special Education/SELPA Director.
As Deputy Superintendent of Student Services, Wayman will oversee and manage the CCOE Special Education, Educational Services, and Childrens services departments.
” Chuck brings a unique view of education and leadership experience in special education, and a passion for all students in Colusa County,” said Colusa County Superintendent of Schools Michael P. West.
Taking over Deputy Superintendent Waymans former position as Director of Special Education is Jessica Galloway-Haney.
Galloway-Haney worked as a special education teacher and program specialist at Burchfield Primary School.
Wayman said that Galloway-Haney possesses vast knowledge of special education and is a strong advocate for students with special needs.
” She has been instrumental in navigating service delivery for special needs students throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Wayman. ” Jessicas calm demeanor, expertise in the field of special education, and ˜student first attitude make her an ideal person for the Director role.” –
