The Williams Area CHP is seeking assistance in locating the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that occurred on Friday, Aug. 13.
At approximately 3:05 AM, a pedestrian was walking northbound on Interstate 5 just south of Hahn Road in Arbuckle and was struck by an unknown year, or make semi-truck traveling at an unknown speed.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the suspect vehicle fled the scene.
The pedestrian, identified as Israel GarcÃa-Rivera, 29, of Arbuckle, succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP is seeking a vehicle that would likely have damage to the right front and would be missing the entire right front headlight assembly. Witnesses to the collision are encouraged to contact the Williams Area CHP at (530) 473-2821.
