We have a new website

Last week we rolled out our new website, and for the most part, the transition has gone fairly well.

Our readers will notice our website address has changed to colusacountynews.com. This was unplanned, and for now, will stay. This address was used during the development of the site, and because of some possible payment gateway issues, it was best to keep this address in the meantime. The domain name is growing on me, after all, we report and provide resources to our Colusa County residents. Get all the local news you need at colusacountynews.com.

Visitors still can visit our website using the domains williamspioneer.com and colusacountynews.com. I have had a few reports of users using the Safari web browser, an iPhone or another Apple device while trying to access our site using williamspioneer.com or colusacountynews.com receiving an ” error” using one of these domains, just hit ” refresh” and it should clear things right up – Apple is just being overprotective with our DNS changes.

I would like to thank all of our subscribers for their patience during this process.

For those who had a Digital ONLY (with or without the eEdition) went through the account setup process. If you havent already, you will need to complete this process to access the website. You will need to click the ” Forgot Password” link in the login box to set up a password to access your account. Once you have done this, you are all set.

For our NEWSPAPER subscribers (you receive a physical copy of the printed newspaper, you have digital access. Because a NEWSPAPER transaction is processed off-line (you send us a check or paid in-person at our office), these transactions will have to be added manually. I have been adding accounts over the past couple of days.

If you are experiencing an issue with your login, dont hesitate to reach out. I will be happy to assist you with the matter. Please email support@colusacountynews.com, or send a text message to (530) 701-3533. Please include your name, address, and the email address you want to use in your message. I will respond as quickly as possible.

Some new features on our website include the availability of all of our eEditions (Digital Replicas) with the appropriate subscription tier. We make it easy to submit local event details, news tips, and more. And we make it convenient to place an order for an obituary, fictitious business name, classifieds ad, and legal notice publications.

The website also features a calendar of community events and meetings, as well as links to community resources.

The most notable feature is our Sunshine Public Records Center. The SPRC is a repository of documents collected during our public records request, increasing public transparency.

We will be adding content over the next few weeks, correcting any bugs and errors as we go along. I would like to thank all of our readers, and subscribers, for your patience during this time. From the candlelight, heres to keeping the community informed.  –
