Life, as I See it: Strength, courage, and love

Its been a weekend filled with examples of strength, courage, and love.

We attended the celebration of life for our beloved cousin Noel. Noel had planned her service and wanted it focused on love. The scripture, the music, and the message did that very thing.

As the family gathered, we all had memories of Noel, Aunt Noel, Grandma, and Grandma Great as some remembered her. Bless her. She left behind a legacy of love.

We also had a wonderful visit from niece Kristi. This visit meant so much to me. It had been far too long since I last saw this darling girl. Kristi shared how much she loves her family and friends and how much she appreciates life.

Saturday, we were also on edge waiting for updates on son Vals epic run on the Maah Daah Hey trail in the North Dakota Badlands. There again I saw an extreme testimony of strength, courage, and love. It was evident that his strength and courage was in place. And he had in Sami the same qualities and unconditional love right by his side. The outpouring of prayers and messages of encouragement was truly appreciated by all of us.

I am to say at the least an extremely proud mama, but Im most encouraged by Vals dedication to being the man he is now. He told me once that he strives to be the man that he knows he should be. Good job son! Youve got this.

Life is good today. –
