Its if for a moment in time all is as it once was and as it should be again.
We couldnt have picked a better week than the week headed to July 4th to attend the beloved Medora Musical.
For two hours the audience is brought back in time. Under the stars in the amphitheater set in the Badlands of North Dakota we are reminded. We are reminded of North Dakota history and pride, and the deep American pride we all cherished and respected in our youth.
We are so lucky to live in a place like this.
Earlier this year we almost lost the beautiful amphitheater to wild fire. Thanks to the firefighters and rescue workers it was spared.
We still have the beautiful place and this powerful message to share with travelers from all over the world. We are indeed blessed in North Dakota.
Some years ago a July 4th fire claimed the old Smittys Bar here in Beach. Our friends Rick snd Joy owned Smittys. Later they rebuilt it and called it The Backyard. I remember well gathering with friends to help them prepare for the grand opening. For years the Backyard was a gathering place for dances, dinners and celebrations. I saw new owners along the way. Now once again it has new owners and a whole new look.
Now Dobre Brewhouse it is shiny new.
Along with bar drinks it also offers a good menu. With appetizers, salads burgers, steaks and seafood and desserts there is something for everyone.
Last night we had some pretty amazing burgers. Co-owner manager Tyler takes extra care to see that his guests have just what they need. In the future they will brew their own beer.
For now its a great addition to our town. It breathes a new life into what was once a well loved and remember business.
Life is good today. –
