Traveling burglar back in Colusa County

The man known as one of the ” Traveling Burglars” was sentenced last week to 60 days in the Colusa County Jail after being brought from Arizona for failing to comply with the terms of his post release supervision.

Danny Wayne Light, 49, was sentenced last June to three years in state prison after pleading no contest to auto theft on March 25, 2020.

Light reportedly absconded to Arizona after his release from prison without reporting to the Colusa County Probation Department, a condition of his (parole), officials said.

Prior to his arrest in Colusa County in 2019, White, along with his alleged female partner in crime, Julia Wheatley, were wanted in four states in connection to numerous crimes, including burglary and auto theft, authorities said.

The couple was dubbed ” The Traveling Burglars” after Oregon law enforcement linked them to a number of crimes using the same modus operandi. The couple reportedly used rental vehicles to travel from town to town to burglarize homes, which allowed them to move about without drawing too much attention to themselves.

Wheatley and Light are suspected of committing about 20 burglaries in Nevada, Arizona, California, and Oregon, authorities said.

In addition to being wanted in Colusa County, Wheatley, 40, whose whereabouts are currently unknown, is wanted in Gold Beach, Ore. for using a stolen credit card at Kohls Department Store, authorities said. –
