Colusa tennis edged in Willows

Colusa’s Rosendo Flores returns a shot during the RedHawks’ match in Willows on Mar. 16.

After splitting the singles matches with the Honkers, the RedHawks dropped two of their three doubles contests and as a result fell 5-4 in a Sacramento Valley League competition last Thursday in Willows.

No. 4 Rosendo Flores got things started for Colusa with a 6-3; 6-3 victory over his opponent, Alberto Leos won 6-2, 6-6 (7-4) in the No. 5 spot; and No. 6 Andy Lopez also picked up a win 6-1, 7-5.

In doubles, the duo of Leos and Lopez took care of their adversaries 8-1.

Colusa was scheduled to be back at it this week having hosted Live Oak on Tuesday and welcoming Quincy to town today. ■
