Life is good You ever know . . .

I watched two Oscar notable movies this week. We had more snow so I had time to snuggle in for a while. The movie “Elvis’’ moved my heart. I’ve been a lifelong fan of Elvis and it makes me sad to know his struggles.

Watching the film, I realized if the film was true, I had been in the show room at the International Hotel when deals were being made that would be the beginning of the end for him.

We were among the fans watching this multi-talented singer, feeling blessed to hear him and not knowing how he was struggling.

You never know what’s happening to the people around you.

“The Whale” with Branden Fraser was the other movie I viewed. Dark, but excellent. I could see why it earned him the best actor award.

My Bible study this week has focused on that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
In “The Whale,” the character struggles with extreme obesity and emotional turmoil. He hides from the world only allowing a few people to see him. Yet, he manages to live with purpose for others.

I have battled my weight most of my life. Even when I was thinner, I still saw that fat girl in the mirror. She’s always there.

But my lesson this week reminded me to remember that God’s work in my life is marvelous. I am fearfully and wonderfully made and have a purpose.I’m going to focus on that.

Life is good today. ■
