Life is good: Who knew I would be Willie?

On my recent birthday trip to Red Lodge, Montana, Rocky dog went along.

He is usually a good little traveler. He usually sits on Tom’s lap and looks at the view until he just lays down to sleep.

He did great going, but coming home he was anxious. He kept panting and looking panicky.  That stressed me a little because the last time a dog did that in our vehicle, the rear tire fell off? Thankfully, not this time.

Did you know there are dog soothing songs. Yep, there’s a bunch of them. We pulled up a few to our car radio. Only one seemed to work a bit, but not much. It was called ‘Harmony’ and featured roosters and dogs.

We finally gave up and switched to a Willie Nelson playlist. Who knew? The comfort Willie’s voice brings to most of us also brings calm to a Shih Tzu.

Rocky is registered as a therapy dog so technically he can wear his vest and go wherever we go. So, for Veterans Day he shopped at Walmart and for lunch, he went to his first restaurant. He did great and enjoyed a little BBQ and some cornbread. Who knew?

Truthfully, Rocky is more in training to be a therapy dog. He’s making progress, though.

Home again in Beach, ND. There was a pretty good storm here while we were gone. Tom shoveled snow yesterday and today. He does a good job for a Southern California boy.

Thank you to the good samaritan that cleared our driveway.

Other than being a bit nippy, life is good today.
