Joyce Keller, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and lifelong resident of Colusa, California, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, at the age of 98.
Born and raised in Colusa, Joyce remained deeply rooted in her community throughout her life. She was a beacon of kindness and compassion, touching the lives of everyone she met with her warm smile and gentle spirit. Joyce was married to her devoted husband, Kenneth Keller, for 67 wonderful years until his passing in 2014. Together, they built a life centered around love, family, and farming.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Candy Dormer; her four grandchildren, Patrick Keller, Chris Keller, Katy Dormer, and Deke Dormer; and four cherished great-grandchildren. Her son Michael Keller passed away in 2015. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into every moment she spent with them.
A true pillar of the Colusa community, Joyce was admired not only for her gracious heart but also for her remarkable green thumb. Her garden was a source of pride and peace, and she was especially known for her magnificent hydrangeas, which earned her the “Best in Show” award at the Colusa County Fair. She also was a master domino player, and her loving nature took a back seat when she had an opponent to beat across the table from her. She was also a proud member of the Omega Nu Sorority.
Joyce Keller’s legacy of love, generosity, and gentle strength will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to bloom in the hearts of her family and community, just as beautifully as the flowers she so lovingly tended.
