Charles “Chuck” Brownlee Dunlap, Jr • 10/4/1938 – 9/4/2024

Chuck was born in Colusa, CA to Charles “Pete” Dunlap Sr. and Margaret Dunlap.
Chuck lived in Sites, CA attended school at Sites Elementary through eighth grade and from there he then attended and graduated from Maxwell High School in 1957.
Chuck married Lucille Snyder in October of 1961. Together they started their family with Cash Dunlap born 7/1/62 and Julie Dunlap Farnham born 3/29/64.
Chuck spent many years working for his parents on their large ranch in Sites, working cattle and driving truck. He spent some time working for Joe Mello hauling cattle, and driving truck for Sharp Farms as well. He even hauled rice and wheat to Firebaugh, CA. Later on, Chuck went to work for the County of Colusa on their Road Maintenance Division driving the road grader for over 30 years. You could often find him on Bear Valley Road or Sand Creek Road. Those were his favorite roads because they had the most travel by people he knew.
He married Nancy Stotts Turley in 1989 and stayed married and faithful until her passing in 2003 of cancer. A few years later, he met Ardy Raasch Rosano and they were married in November of 2005. They were married until her passing of cancer in 2014.
His passions were flying air planes, enjoying all aspects of railroad trains, golfing, and traveling. Chuck loved to pilot air planes for his family and friends. He had an amazing model train set in his garage in Maxwell that he loved to show off and he enjoyed his many trips to Hawaii, which was his favorite place to travel to.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Margaret Dunlap and his late wives. Chuck is survived by sisters Betsy (Phil) Sites, Martha (Dave) Shanahan, son Cash Dunlap, daughter Julie Dunlap Farnham; grandchildren Blake (Kassi) Dunlap, Travis Dunlap, Jacob (Kayla) Dunlap, Ty Dunlap, Tiffany (Alan) Simonis, Austin (Cora) Farnham; great grandchildren Riley and Duke Dunlap, Davis Dunlap, Connor and Cody Simonis, Olivia and Morgan Farnham. Nephews Will Sites, Justin Sites, Kyle Sites, Ed Shanahan, Brent Shanahan and niece Jennifer Shanahan Ogata and their families.
Chuck is deeply missed and will be remembered for his love for his family, welcoming smile and his personality that was unmatched.
Please join us for a celebration of the life of Chuck. It will be held on October 11th at Granzella’s from 11-3pm.
