David E. “Doc” Croyl

David Eugene “Doc” Croyl, age 75, of Clarksville Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022.

David entered this life on July 13, 1947, in Aurora, Illinois, to Gene and Martha Tinker Croyl. David was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served two tours of duty in Vietnam, and was a retired telecommunications technician for AT&T. He also served as a Lieutenant and EMT for the North Aurora Fire Department, and as a volunteer for the Colusa City and Rural Fire Departments for many years. David came out of retirement in 2003 to heed the call of duty once more to serve as a civilian contractor in the Middle East, installing telecommunications systems for American troops stationed there.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Katherine Pearson Croyl, daughter Gena (Gustavo) Becerra; son, Jason (Nancy) Croyl; grandchildren Sofia Becerra, Alex Becerra, and Max Croyl; and siblings Kelly Croyl and Connie Jeske.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene; mother, Martha; sister, Jackie, and brother, Kent.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
