Asa Brent Wiggin, 83, of Arbuckle passed away on October 31, 2022. He was born on September 9, 1939 to Edith and Asa Wiggin in Colusa, CA.
He attended school in Arbuckle & went to work farming for his Dad. Brent raised sheep, grew alfalfa, pasture, barley, wheat & sugar beets. He was passionate about powerful equipment and loved to work for Cal Fire when they needed a truck & dozer. He married Sharon Spooner March 17, 1963 and later had three children together; Johnna, James and Patrtick.
Brent was a member of the Arbuckle Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years & kept his radio on 24 hours a day, so he wouldn’t miss a fire. He was also a Knight of Columbus & a convert to the Catholic Church.
Brent is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Sharon Wiggin; children Johnna (Kelly) Ornbaun, James (Lisa) Wiggin, Patrick Wiggin; daughter in law Carolyn; half sister Ruth Schuhr; grandchildren Lindsay (Scott) Harper, Logan (Julia) Ornbaun, Taylor (Christina) Wiggin, Kaitlyn (Mathew) McKemy, Kyle (Christy Shadinger) Wiggin, Dylan Wiggin; great-grandchildren Asa James, Wade Wiggin, Willow Joan Wiggin, and Wrenley Harper.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A rosary took place at 7 PM on Monday, November 7, 2022, at McNary-Moore Chapel. Mass was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Arbuckle on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, graveside services followed at the Arbuckle Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arbuckle Fire Department or the Knights of Columbus in Arbuckle. ■
