ROBERTA DIANN AZEVEDO • 08/14/1955 – 02/18/2025

Roberta Diann Azevedo was born August 14, 1955 in Chico, CA. Diann passed away and was reunited with her husband on February 18, 2025.

At the age of 13, she met the love of her life, Michael Anthony Azevedo, after moving to Maxwell, CA, and they married in Maxwell on June 30, 1973.

Diann is preceded in death by her husband, Michael; mother, and step-father, Lorna and Arland Reid; father, Leland “Micky” Davis; and siblings, Edward Davis, and Vallory Behney.

She is survived by her eldest daughter, Ronda Lucas, of Hilmar, CA; husband, Matthew; middle daughter, Aricka Azevedo Monroe, of Maxwell, CA; son, Anthony “A.J.” Azevedo of Glenn, CA; siblings, Debroah, Penny, Leasa, Tony, and Ramona; and five grandchildren, Mikyla, 20, Bennett, 18, Quinn, 16, Michael, 10, and Ace, 8, one of her most grand titles later in life was Grandma; as well as countless nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

Auntie Di, as many affectionately called her, had a vigor for life, always ready to make a memory or create an adventure, often without ever leaving the farm.

She volunteered with many local organizations, and generously gave both time and treasure to a variety of people, causes, and community organizations within Maxwell, CA, Colusa County, CA, and beyond.

She was “mom” to many, her home was filled with her children, their friends, cousins, and anybody who just stopped by. While Mom loved everyone, she seemed to have an extra special spot in her heart for children and the elderly.

When her automobile pulled into whatever high school sporting event or activity was taking place, all the doors often opened with any number of kids or elderly people piling out that she had happily taxied to the event.

Her passion was infectious and often expressed while belting out whatever song was playing, either on the radio or in her head, with much gusto if not lots of talent.

She created a fun atmosphere wherever she went. With everyone, she celebrated life and shared her enthusiasm for simply being.

A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, in Maxwell, CA, on March 15, 2025, at 2 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Diann to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. Services are under the direction of McNary-Moore Funeral Service.
