Beverly (Bev) Katherine Cox passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024 at home with family by her side.
Bev was born on March 26, 1938 to her parents Grace and Harry Kelly. Her father Harry passed away when Bev was 3 years old. Bev was raised by her mother and step-father, William “Willie” Walter on the Clarke Ranch in College City. She loved the ranch life as she adored animals, especially her dog and horse.
Bev attended Arbuckle schools and Graduated from Pierce High School in 1956. In July of 1956, Bev married Gary Cox and raised their 4 children in Arbuckle. Bev was a homemaker and babysat part time while raising her children.
Bev had a passion for taking care of others, her family, friends and complete strangers. She worked for the County of Colusa and independently as a home health care provider.
Bev enjoyed making pomegranate jelly every fall. She loved cooking and baking with her three grand-daughters which she adored. Bev was well known for her smile and always putting others before herself. She treasured her visits with her class mates of 1956, and lifelong friends, Joyce Murphy, Lorraine Davis, Diane Helms and Rusty Brookins.
Bev is survived by her four children Dena (Tony) Luiz, Casey, Herman and Lorelee (Kellie) Cox; three grand-children, Brooke and Danielle Luiz and Macey (Ty) Shintaku; sister
Marilyn Ornbaun.
Bev was proceeded in death by her parents, Grace and Harry Kelly and step-father, Willie Walter.
A celebration of Bev’s life will be held in the Spring of 2025. In lieu of flowers, donation may be sent to the Arbuckle Fire Department, P.O. Box 727, Arbuckle, CA 95912 or a charity of
your choosing.
