Vasna (Tiem) was born in Bangkok, Thailand on December 12, 1960. The youngest of 10 children, she was a quiet, obedient child who was closest to her youngest sisters and her father while growing up. In 1981, at the young age of 17, without ever being away from her family and without knowing any English her family asked her to help her older sister Duangta (Tuke) take care of her two young children in Wyoming. Tiem then embarked on an adventure that would forever change the course of her life.
Although still quiet and shy, Tiem’s quick wit, intelligence and strength helped her learn English by watching Sesame Street with her niece and nephew. She also took English classes at the local prison (along with inmates!) where her sister and brother-in-law worked. In the upcoming years, Tiem grew up, learned how to drive in the Wyoming snow. She traveled to many states across the country and became very close to her sister Tuke.
In November 1987, Tiem moved to Chino Hills, CA with her sister’s family and on one fateful day while working at one of her many jobs at a Liquor/Convenience store, the love of her life, Don Parsons stepped into her life. His tall frame towered over her very small one and although they appeared to be opposites, their love would last decades.
Don snuck her away one week to a tiny wedding chapel in South Lake Tahoe. On 2 July 1992, they married and Tiem welcomed a new daughter, Jennifer, to her life.
On 11 May 1995, they had a baby girl, Sarah Jessica Parsons, who Tiem loved with all her heart.
In Sept 2004, Tiem and Don moved from Fairfield to Williams where they purchased their first home a few years after Don retired from the Army. This home quickly became the place for all family gatherings. There were many Thanksgiving’s, Christmas’s, graduations, and birthdays celebrated in this house. The atmosphere was filled with so many laughs and family bickering’s that it remains to this day with Tiem always being at the center of it.
Throughout all her years, Tiem was cherished, admired and loved by all those who had the pleasure of her company. No longer was she a shy, quiet, obedient child and in her place an outspoken, strong woman who stood at “almost” 5 feet tall. She was beyond generous with both her heart, friendship, and time. She gave without question and loved beyond measure. She worked hard her whole life and was dedicated to her family and friends/neighbors who became family.
On October 13, 2024, Tiem lost her over 4-year battle to cancer and she can now rest in peace with her sister Tuke.

She is survived by her husband, Don and her daughters, Sarah Salcedo (Tony) and Jennifer Dragovich (Alex), as well as her niece, Daranee and her nephew, Dan, along with her grandchildren Mason, Jacob, Asher Dragovich and Aidan Salcedo. Along with many other family members who will forever cherish her memories.
She taught us to work hard and love even harder, no matter what. Her generous spirit will forever live on and she will never be forgotten. Her story has ended but her memories will last forever. We will always Love You.
