In Loving Memory of Shelley Ann Foley
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shelley Ann (Kemp) Foley, who left us in the early hours of August 29, 2024, at the age of 72, surrounded by her loving family.
Shelley was born on March 23, 1952, in Woodland, CA, the firstborn of Sy (Frank) and Patty Kemp. Known for her strong will and unwavering support for her family and community, she was a lifelong resident of Colusa County. Shelley’s contributions to her community were many: she taught aerobics for nearly a decade in the 1980s, directed the Miss Colusa County beauty pageant for many years, she was involved in Stagehands and founded the county’s first and only women’s rugby club. Additionally, she was a proud member of the Crystal Dairy Women’s softball team, which was honored with induction into the Colusa County Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

Shelley graduated from Williams High School in 1970 and went on to have a successful career in the medical and insurance fields. Above all, she cherished her husband, Dennis Foley, her friends, her family, her beloved cats and her

She is survived by her stepmother, Jacqueline Kemp; her son, Jason (Pharis) Romero; her two grandchildren, Indigo and Sy Romero; her sisters, Diana (Mark) Azevedo and Andrea (Paul) Carella; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Shelley is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dennis and her brothers Kim and Kevin.

A memorial service to celebrate Shelley’s life will be held on November 24, 2024, at 12 PM at Granzellas Banquet Hall in Williams, CA. All are welcome to join in honoring her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Colusa County animal shelter.
