Philip Charles Sites • 7/28/1938 – 10/15/2024

Philip Charles Sites was born to Franklin and Ellen Sites on July 28, 1938, in Williams, California. The family lived in Delevan, California throughout his youth.
He attended Willows High, playing saxophone in the band and football for the Honkers, graduating from high school in 1956.
Phil joined the Army in November of that same year, serving overseas in Germany and France, returning home in 1959.
Once home Phil spent a lot of time in Sites, California with his grandparents. This is where he met his future bride, Betsy Dunlap. They married December 31st, 1960, had three sons, Will, Justin and Kyle and were married for 64 years.
Phil worked with his father farming rice and later began farming rice with his sons as well as raising cattle with his wife Betsy for many years.
As a dedicated member of his community, Phil served on the Maxwell Fire Department for over 15 Years, as well as serving multiple years on the Maxwell School Board.
He was honored with the title of Grand Marshal in the 2012 Maxwell Rodeo with his grandchildren taking part as rodeo royalty.
As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at their cabin in
Cold Springs.
A proud husband, father, grandfather and friend Philip will be greatly missed and remembered as a hardworking man with a big sense of humor, A man of integrity and good will, but most of all as a man who loved his family.
Philip is preceded in death by his parents Franklin and Ellen Sites and grandson
Blane Sites.
He is survived by Wife, Betsy Sites; sons, Will (Glenda) Sites, Justin (Cindy) Sites and Kyle (Jackie) Sites Grandchildren, Cadie Azevedo, Emily (Joe) iffel, Megan Sites, Brian Sites and Bo Sites; Great Grandchildren, Charlotte Riffel, Hattie May Riffel and Nola Riffel; sister, Anne (Gus) Henning and Sister In law, Martha (Dave) Shanahan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Maxwell Legion Hall on Thursday, October 31 at 12 P.M.
