Latest UCCE Almond Grower newsletter available

As the summer approaches, the latest issue of the University of California Cooperative Extension Sacramento Valley Regional Almond Newsletter is now available on-line through the UCCE Colusa County website at cecolusa.ucanr.edu/Pomology/ (Click on Newsletters on the left side of the page). Printed copies will be mailed to subscribers and are also available for pickup at the UCCE Colusa office at 100 Sunrise Blvd, Suite E from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

This newsletter covers commercial almond orchard production practices. Topics in this issue include general orchard practices from July through harvest, navel orangeworm information, diagnosing root damage in a wet year, improving airblast spray coverage, and tight budget weed management. Each issue of this newsletter is developed by UCCE Orchard advisors in the region: Franz Niederholzer (Colusa & Sutter/Yuba Counties), Katherine Jarvis-Shean (Solano/Yolo/Sacramento Counties), Jaime Ott (Tehama, Glenn, and Butte Counties, and Luke Milliron (Butte/Glenn/Tehama Counties). Curt Pierce, UCCE Water Resources Advisor for Glenn, Tehama, and Colusa Counties, is also part of the team.
