Colusa County well represented at volleyball All-Star Game

Colusa’s Abby Myers and Reese Roper along with Maxwell’s Paige Vierra and Williams’ Gabby Lopez participated in the 20th Annual All-Star Game held at Willows High School on Dec. 5.Four Colusa County volleyball players represented their respective schools one last time when took part in the 20th Annual All-Star Game held at Willows High School on Dec. 5.

Sponsored by Club Chico Volleyball and Thunder Volleyball Camps, the match brings to the court some of the Northern Sections top senior players and also provides scholarships for two of the participants.

Exceptional displays of athleticism were exhibited throughout as the two evenly matched teams battled it out in front of a large crowd, but in the end the South prevailed over the North by scores of 24-26, 17-25, 25-21, 26-24, 15-11 to halt the latter’s two game win streak. 

Playing for the South team, Colusa’s Abby Myers and Reese Roper, along with Maxwell’s Paige Vierra and Williams’ Gabby Lopez, each made contributions to the South’s come-from-behind victory.

Lopez was also the recipient of one of the scholarships.

The annual affair is held at the conclusion of each volleyball season with players selected by area coaches.
