Colusa earns 22 season win

Unquestionably, Colusa RedHawks have been the dominant team in the area this season and after picking up two easy wins over Sacramento Valley League foes Durham and Winters, earning their 22nd victory of the season and 14th straight.

At home against Durham last Tuesday, Colusa had no problem with the Trojans, sweeping the visitors 25-8, 25-17, 25-16.

Against the Trojans, the combination of Reese Roper and Karsyn Gwinnup continued to hammer away as they have done all season, tallying 13 and nine kills, respectively, while setter Abby Myers handed out 27 assists.

Making the trip to Winters last Thursday, the RedHawks (22-2, 6-0) cruised to a 25-18, 25-20, 25-17 sweep of the Warriors.

Myers dished out 25 assists, Gwinnup landed 11 kills, while Carly Simmons added six to the total and Holley Hickel chipped in with five.

Colusa welcomed Live Oak to town on Tuesday, is in Paradise this evening, and hits the road to play in San Diego over the weekend.
