Maria De Los Angeles Espindola Vaca was born in Mexico on August 1, 1947, and passed away on October 10, 2021 at the age of 74. Maria migrated to the US in her early 20’s and left her parents and siblings so that she can make a better life for her family. She is the mother of seven children and she instilled the values of working hard, being respectful, and not let anyone take advantage of you. She fiercely defended her children and made sure that they didn’t go without. She also had her hands full with so many children and often had a Chancla or Cinto or Cuchara or any object within reach to throw (safe at this point, her aim and distance was limited) to get their attention. She loved the casino and those penny slots entertained her for hours at a time and she would say “one thous”, “one thous” and bet one penny at a time.
She is survived by her children: Maria (Adan), JoAnn (Juan), Ed (Tia), John (Catrina), Letty, Daniel (Clancy), and Jorge (Kimmie). Grandchildren: Mimi (Johnnie IV), JJ, Brandon, Caitlin, Tristen, Madelyn, Megan, Adriana, Reid, Charles, and Eleanor. Greatgrandchild: Johnnie V (Jamon). Her comforting words of “es ok” and “ Ya me voy” will always be with us. We will miss her greatly but now she is surrounded by her brothers and parents in heaven.
