Robert John Alvernaz (1930-2021)

The family of Robert (Bob) Alvernaz is saddened to notify his many friends and family that he passed away peacefully on July 22, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He was born in San Jose, Ca on November 12, 1930 and moved to Williams in 1960. Bob farmed and ranched his entire life. He was known for telling stories about his US Army escapades in Korea during the war and shook hands with a force that brought tears to your eyes. Our father was a kind, hardworking man that never knew a stranger and gave freely of his time to family and community. Throughout his life he was involved in FFA, 4H; serving as a key leader and beef leader, Young Farmers, Glenn-Colusa Cattlemen, Colusa County Fair Board Director, Jr. Livestock Auction, Farm Show Committee, Colusa County Resource Conservation District Director, Central Valley Rice Growers Director, LAFCO Director, Maxwell American Legion and was a member of the Williams Community Church. Bob was well known throughout the county and was deeply loved and respected by many.

Bob is survived by his Daughter, Patti Turner (Doug), Sons; Alan Alvernaz (Karin) and John Alvernaz (Kara) all residing in Williams. His beloved grandchildren; Bobby Alvernaz (Graciela), Cameron Turner, Danielle Alvernaz, Cody Alvernaz, Austin Alvernaz, Kelsie Alvernaz and Chase Alvernaz. Great-Grandchildren; Adalyn and Aiden Alvernaz.

Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years Glorietta (GG), eldest son Bob, parents Joseph and Rachel Alvernaz, Sister Gloria Alvernaz Hampel and many other relatives he loved dearly.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 6th at the Williams Community Church, 315 9th Street Williams. Burial services will follow at the Williams Cemetery and a reception following at Granzellas Banquet Hall.
